ABOUT CHANUKAH ON THE RIVER

photo-1.jpgChanukah on the River began in 1998 as a hopeful dream and conversation between Rabbis Chaim Block and Yossi Marrus of Chabad. The idea was to bring the Chanukah Celebration of Light to the heart of San Antonio, the Riverwalk. It began with forty people and one river barge.

Ninteen years later, Chanukah on the River has grown to one of the largest Jewish events in the State of Texas. The famed Chanukah Boat Parade with interactive entertainment, Menorah lighting, special guests, and live concert, all continue to evolve from year to year. Close to one thousand people celebrate this unique event, celebrating religious freedom, unity and pride.

Come join us, you won’t regret it!
